The Ona Carbonell Camps are a sports campus where, through synchronized swimming, we want to develop the qualities of the child at the motor, psychological and social level, learning and acquiring a series of implicit values ​​in sport: respect, friendship, self-confidence … We use synchronized swimming as a tool for the development of the child, focusing on the educational and training aspects of sport, by means of games and played forms that will make the Campus a unique, didactic and very fun stay.

In this document we will solve the frequently asked questions and the basic operation of Ona Carbonell Camps, but for any questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between “Summer Camp” and “Elite Camp”?
Elite Camp: An international Camp that is designed for high level swimmers who want to continue progressing in the knowledge and personal development of the synchronized sport. The activities of Elite Camp Ona Carbonell will be varied and all of them focused on improving the technique to become the best athlete in synchronized swimming. The activities range from sports coaching, nutrition and diet, hip hop, stretching and prevention, first aid and many more.
Summer Camp: An international Camp that raises different levels of synchronization. From a basic level to a higher level, being Elite Camp the highest level of technical improvement. The activities will be varied, focused on leisure time and the world of synchronized swimming, in short terms, to have fun practicing the sport that they most like.

Registration criteria
Summer Camp: Open participation to everyone, although we recommend having a minimum level of synchronized swimming.
Elite Camp: As a general criteria, swimmers can only register by proving that they have nationally competed. The Elite Camp Staff can request a video test demonstrating the minimum skills to access to Elite Camp.

Distribution groups & criteria
The distribution of the different groups of each Camp will be governed according to the technical criteria of the Staff.

How many hours a day will the participants be training in the water?
Summer Camp: Approximately 4 hours a day
Elite Camp: Approximately 5 hours a day

When will Ona Carbonell be with my daughter / son
Summer Camp: Ona will participate actively during the Summer Camp development by attending a minimum of 3 days of the Summer Camp where she will be with all the children in the Camp (it could be changed due to force majeure)
Elite Camp: Ona will participate directly in this Camp and will follow the daily life of all the participants with a very personalized attention (susceptible to changes due to force majeure).

Can all children participate?
Both Camps are open to boys and girls. We encourage all children to participate in Ona Carbonell Camp!

All those registered children will receive a Taymory swimwear (leading brand in the sector).

Medical issues
All participants during the development of the Ona Carbonell Camp will be registered in a sports insurance and accident insurance. Otherwise, they must bring the health card and the vaccine book or health file with the updated data of the vaccination status.
The organization will have the presence of medical personnel to attend to the small incidents (wounds, twists, etc.).
You must inform the Campus Management of any medical aspect you think are relevant (illness, chronic pathology, disability, treatments, allergy, intolerance, injury …) that may require some special attention.

In case the participant has to take medication on the campus, how is it managed?
Camps Ona Carbonell can provide an authorization sheet for taking medication. The tutor must sign it and specify the dose and the time at which it is to be taken. The medication should be provided to the director on the first day of the Camp, who will guard it and supply it according to the instructions in the drug authorization form. Contact us and we will send you the authorization sheet.

Can they take medication “just in case,” that is, because they are prone to headache, stomach, etc.?
Underage participants may not, in any case, carry medication in the backpack. If the participant needs to take medication at a specific moment, the director must have signed the authorization sheet to take medication, and also have the medication, which will be returned on the last Camp day. If we do not have this signed sheet and the participant gets sick, we will take him to the doctor. Contact us and we will send you the  authorization sheet.

What happens if my son or daughter gets ill?
We bring the participant to the doctor and call the parents to inform them about the situation. Once they have been treated, we report what the doctor has said and, if they have received a medication, and what it is. In that moment, we follow the doctor’s instructions.

Arrival / entry instructions
The entrance will take place after 30 minutes before the start of Ona Carbonell Camps (Summer Camp at SEK Catalunya / Elite Camp at CNSabadell).
The organization of the Camps can not be held responsible for the children who arrives before, or after opening doors.
The parent or guardian will inform about the reception to the organization and will be picked up by a staff membership who will bring him to his group. For good operation and organization, we ask that these incidents are exceptional. In addition, the moment of entry is ideal for share any aspect related to the child.

Departures
In order to provide a service of quality, safety and better organization, no child can leave alone or be picked up by any person who is not authorized (Authorization Sheet for departure-collection). The Welcome Center will provide you this file. If there is any particular and exceptional situation, please let us know  by authorizing the person (s) who will pick up the boy or the girl. The children who have to leave before the end of the Camp must have an authorization signed by his/her parents and give it to the staff during the first hour. In these cases, the children will be picked up from the reception of the center. For a better organization and operation, we ask that these cases be exceptional.

Lost & found objects
All “lost & found” objects will be collected daily and stored. On the last day of the Camp it will be available. It will be easier if you label all of your items with your name and surname.

Staff
The entire staff team are actively involved in the field of education and sport. Security, responsibility and professionalism are the basic attitudes that all the staff has in common. In addition, the dynamism, experience and appropriate academic training: Graduates in CAFE, Diploma in Physical Education and Children’s Education, Technicians in Physical and Sports Animation, Leisure Monitor, Aquatic Technicians, specialist trainers of their sport …

Planning activities
All the activities and sessions of the camp are directed, planned and written previously by our monitors. As you can see into the programme, the level of quality, fun and safety are the key points regarding the Camp.

Aquatic activities
These activities are carried out by water specialists, monitor of the groups and support staff as well. All groups will carry out aquatic activities every day – covered and / or uncovered and 100% guided and guided by our team of aquatic specialists. The safety and quality of this activity is a reference for us. If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Food
The food diet is designed for children who are going to develop sporting activities, taking into account the nutrition Recommendations transmitted by the Department of Health of the “Generalitat de Catalunya”.
In this way a complete and balanced weekly menu has been prepared in order to be aligned with children sports activities.

Those children who have some food peculiarity (allergy to gluten, etc.) must be communicated to us with a minimum of one week before the beginning of the Ona Camps.

Furhermore, we offer special menus: astringent diet, soft diet, hypocaloric, diabetic, celiac, intolerant … In these cases, the medical section of the registration form must be explicitly stated, explaining which foods the child can NOT eat.

Parents presence
The parents who accompany their children to the Ona Carbonell Camp should avoid entering the facilities in order to not disturb the timing and activities of the Camp. The parents will have the opportunity to know Ona Carbonell Camp on the day of the “parents meeting” (we will inform about this date asap) and they will also be able to get to know the facilities as well as the human team who will work in the Ona Carbonell Camps. On the last day of the campus and as a goodbye, there will be a “Farewell” in which parents can participate as well.

What day, at what time and where will be the presentation on the first day of Campus?
The presentation will be the first day of Campus. The place and time will be confirmed a few weeks before starting the Camp. We will notify you by email, including the recommendations sheet.

Is it necessary to come the day of the Campus presentation?
Yes, because apart from the presentation of the Camp, the boys and girls will do the first training in order to define the training groups for the rest of the Camp (which could be modified as the Camp progresses).

Can friends, family or acquaintances sleep in the same room?
Yes, provided that the director of the Camp did not find any inconvenience and that there was availability of beds in the assigned places.

Can mobile phones, music players or other electronic devices be carried?
We understand that all these devices do not encourage coexistence among the participants and make it difficult for the participant to feel as a part of a group. Therefore, the use of cell phones, MP3s, consoles or other devices will be limited in certain areas during Camp days.

Can participants of the Ona Carbonell Camp bring money?
Money can be a source of conflict, so we recommend that they don’t take it. In case of taking it, the organization can not be responsible for this responsibility.

Arrival & Departure Schedules

From the organization, in the necessary cases and previous hiring (50 € go & come back trip) we offer the possibility of transfer from Barcelona Sants or Aeroport del Prat (go & come back trip) to the residence regarding Ona Carbonell Camp.
On the other hand we inform you that throughout the day there (Sants station and airport) will be a person from the staff in order to pick up and be with the children who recently arrived. So the participants of the Camp will be always accompanied.
The hiring of the transport service must be specified in the registration form. In case you have not specified it, please contact us.

Registration & Payment

How will I know that I have a place?
Once the registration form of the web has been sent, the place is already pre-reserved. The registration and the reservation will be effective once validated and after the initial payment has been made (50% total amount).

How can I pay for the registration?
Before filling out the pre-registration form, please read the following instructions carefully:

First payment payment
Pay 50% of the total amount to reserve the place: 337.50€ (675€/2)

* Transportation: in the cases that it is necessary, the payment of the cost of the transport will be made in the second payment (transport from the station of Barcelona Sants or Airport of the Prat (return) to the residence of the Summer Camp Ona Carbonell)
– The place will not be booked until the initial payment has been made (50% of the total amount)

Second payment
Regarding the second payment, you will notify you through email the amount (the remaining 50%) that must be paid before June 30 (in the cases that are necessary, the payment of the transport cost will also be added. This second payment will be the final validation.

How will I know if you have received the deposit or the payment that I made with a card?
Once the pre-registration application has been received and 50% of the total amount has been paid, the organization will send you an email confirming your place.

Send proof of deposit or payment by card?
It is not mandatory, but it is highly recommended.

I made the registration payment, but in the end I can not come. What should I do?
Get in touch with us as soon as possible.

Refunds
The reservation can be canceled up to one month before the start of the campus by electronic notification. The total of the first payment will be refunded, except for 50 euros for management expenses. As of this date, the amount of the reservation will not be refunded under any circumstances.
